I think Summer is here!

We have been having beautiful weather! Lots of sunshine and it's been mostly around 15 degrees. We have been spending alot of time outside, Riley loves his stroller and looks like such a big boy in it. We bought him some sunglasses and hats to keep him safe from the sun. He is sitting up on his own now, still falling over a bit but eveyday he falls less and less. He has decided that it is fun to fake laugh and cough..... such a little ham. It's great to see his personality starting to shine through, I think he will be a handful! We tried rice cereal the other day. Didn't go as well as we thought. Riley has been so interested in what we are eating and drinking for a couple of months already and has been smaking his lips and tongue, we thought he would be all over the cereal. Well, he scrunched up his face and turned his head away! He was even swatting my hand away when I would try more. So we will wait a little while longer and then try again. Today we are headed to the dog park for the first time with Riley, should make for some great pictures! Quinton and Andrea will meet us there, they are expecting thier 2nd child in early December! Thier 1st son, Robbie, is 363 days older than Riley. It's great fun to have friends with kids around the same ages.
Jonathan is still looking for work. He had a line on a logging job that fell through after waiting a week to hear when he was supposed to start. He has applied for about a half a dozen jobs in the last week but nothing has come to us yet. We are still praying that something will turn up. Wajax has already called back one of the other guys they laid off, so that might be the way things go. In the mean time, God has provided what we need. Thank you to everyone for all the thoughts and prayers. Anyways enough talk, now for the pictures!

Life is what happens.....

So as many of you already know, Jonathan was laid off from his job at Wajax this week. Today is his last day of work then it's back to the drawing board. We are not totally sure what to do, playing with the idea of working for himself again or looking for something else.... It seems like evey time we try to do something the right way, something goes strangely awry. With the market the way it is we are somewhat stuck in our house, there are a bunch for sale in our complex and our equity has been eaten by the drop in housing prices. So we will pray that something comes up out here and trust that God will provide for us.
On a happier note, Riley is getting bigger everyday! He is now 21 lbs and 27 inches long. He is 5 months old today and I think he is looking more and more like his daddy. We love this stage of his development, he is such a happy little boy. He loves to smile and laugh at us, he is rolling onto his sides ( he is too chubby to get past his shoulders to his tummy and doesn't like being on his tummy enough to go any further. ) He loves his bath time and is almost sitting up on his own. He is also an amazing sleeper, he is down for another nap today after an hour and a half this morning and sleeping last night from 9pm till 7:30 this morning. I can only hope and pray that our next child will be as easy as Riley! Well it's an absolutly beautiful day today and the next few days are supposed to be aswell, time to go out and enjoy the sunshine! Here are some recent pictures that we have taken with our new Canon Elph camera. Enjoy!
